I am so excited to call Live Oak Elementary my home! It is wonderful being part of this dedicated family. I grew up in San Ramon and graduated from California High School. I am very happy to return to my home community and continue to give back through a valuable educational experience. I graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Education. I received my Multiple Subjects credential from Sacramento State.

Teaching has been my life long passion. My desire and goal is that my students will become confident learners and critical thinkers.  I believe in creating a safe and supportive classroom environment where students feel comfortable taking on challenges.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. My family and I are big fans of the San Francisco Giants and love to go to a few games each year. I enjoy traveling to visit friends and family far and near. One of my favorite places to visit is New Zealand! I traveled there twice and really enjoyed the scenery, people, and adventures. My ideal day of relaxation would include a large cup of coffee, a beach and a book!

I look forward to working together to make this a memorable year for your student. In the words of Dr. Seuss, “You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose.”

I am thrilled to be teaching at Live Oak for my 6th year! I have been privileged to be at Live Oak for my entire teaching career- five years in 5th grade and 1 year in 2nd grade. I grew up locally in Walnut Creek. For college I attended Saint Mary’s College where I received my Bachelor of Arts, Teaching Credential and Master of Arts in Teaching.

This year, my husband and I were extremely blessed to welcome our first child, Mackinnon Clancy, to our family on May 9th, 2014. We love spending time with Mack, cheering for the 49ers, and spending time outdoors hiking on the weekends.

I am looking forward to a wonderful 5th grade year!

I am delighted to be on the 5th grade team and working at Live Oak! Teaching is a passion of mine and I am ecstatic to be at such a great school fulfilling it.

I hold a B.A. in International Studies with an emphasis in Business and Economics from CSU East Bay, a teaching credential from Brandman University and a M.S. in Education from CSU East Bay.

In my spare time, I enjoy being outdoors, hiking, Yoga, and traveling. I also enjoy cooking, spending time with my husband, family, friends and our two kittens.

I have been in the field of education for many years, over twenty of them at the elementary level. I am lucky to have opened Live Oak in 2007. My philosophy of education is that students learn most effectively when they have choices and are active participants in building their own classroom and school community. With my Master’s Degree in Arts Integration in the Curriculum, I look for learning opportunities in every student, every day.  The more we DO, the more we learn.

As a Student Council advisor, I facilitate in the development of leadership skills as well as a sense of collaboration among the student body.

I am married with two children. My daughter attends Las Positas College and my son is a student at Cal High. I consider my classroom family an extension of my personal family, and anticipate facilitating our relationship throughout the school year.

It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.

I am thrilled to be joining the 5th grade team at Live Oak. I grew up in this district, graduating from San Ramon High, and am overjoyed to be now able to teach in the same district. For my undergraduate degree, I graduated from State University of New York at Purchase where I studied Theatre Arts and Literature. I went on to earn my Teaching Credential and Masters in Education from Cal State East Bay.

In my spare time, I love spending time working backstage for local theatre companies as a costumer. I¹m also a bibliophile and especially love curling up with a good fantasy or science fiction book. I enjoy everything Disney and absolutely love taking trips to Disneyland!

In fact, Walt Disney himself stated one of my favorite learning mantras, "Around here, however, we don't look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious...and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths."

I am excited to be returning to Live Oak and joining the fifth grade team.  This is my second year at Live Oak but I have been a teacher for 10 years.  My teaching career started after completing my BA degree from U.C. Berkeley. From there I worked as a teaching intern at The Hamlin School in San Francisco, CA and then a head teacher at Redwood Day School in Oakland, CA. During this time I received my teaching credential and MA from San Francisco State.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband, three children and dog, Buddy.  I also enjoy reading, cooking, dancing and listening to music.  We are San Ramon locals so don’t be surprised if you see me at Safeway or Peet’s Coffee.

My name is Mrs. Kasey Wright and I am delighted to be part of the Live Oak Elementary School for a 8th year.

I attended Saint Mary’s College in Moraga where I received my degree in Liberal Studies with a minor in music. I then went on to earn my teaching credential at the Saint Mary’s School of Education.  I earned my Master’s Degree in Education, specializing in Arts Integrated Curriculum through Lesley University in Boston, Massachusetts.

I love traveling! I was an exchange student to Japan, backpacked through Europe twice, spent a summer in Hong Kong and China, visited the beautiful island nation of Bali and spent Christmas in Australia. More recently, I went to the Dominican Republic, and enjoyed another trip to Bali for my honeymoon.  I also enjoy watching movies, singing, spending time with my friends, doing anything that involves animals and nature, and snuggling with my cats. After teaching in Oakland for six years, I moved across the ocean to live and work in Sapporo, Japan. I taught English to middle and high school students for a year. I spent my free time eating a lot of sushi, playing in the snow and learning to speak Japanese, while experiencing some of the most beautiful cultural traditions I have ever known.

Now, I’m happy to bring my experiences in both teaching and traveling to my classroom at Live Oak, where I hope everyone can find their own success. I hope to teach my students about different cultures and help them open their eyes to the HUGE world they can explore.
