Digital Citizenship Week!
This week at Live Oak we are in the midst of “Digital Citizenship Week” (Oct. 16-22). This is a week where SRVUSD is bringing awareness to our community about the importance of Citizenship in the Cyber world. If you would like more information from the district, please click here. In our efforts to keep our students safe, Live Oak is a Common Sense Media Certified school. Common Sense is also promoting this week and Live Oak is utilizing many of their resources. If you would like more information, please check it out!
As your children share what they learn with you this week, we will focus on 2 main topics. The first is being aware of our “Digital Footprints.” Teacher Hub has information about “10 Things Your Student Should Know About Their Digital Footprints.” (Click here for the article) Students will be educated about the digital footprints they leave when accessing the internet. The second topic we are encouraging for our families is to make time this week for #DeviceFreeDinner. We would love all families to set aside Thursday, October 20th for this activity. We encourage all families to participate and spend a quality dinner to reconnect with each other by having meaningful conversations around the dinner table. You can participate by registering here.
